Spring Accessories Define ‘Less is More’
March 2, 2010 by kennon.erica
For those who like to keep up with high fashion looks for less, spring has brought a whole new meaning to “less is more,” not only for your pockets, but for your pocketbooks too!
“Bag lady, you gone hurt your back,” literally.
Some of us might be all too familiar with this Erykah Badu hit. It’s spring 2010 ladies, so it’s time to retire those bulky handbags and go for something a little more travel-sized. From Paris to New York at the Spring Fashion Weeks, we saw big names like Oscar de la Renta, Lavin, and, a personal favorite, Chloe adorn their muses in these tiny tokens of artistic accessory. Both abstract and compact, this trend is something we should all be thankful for down here in Athens. There’s no need to break a sweat in the pre-summer humidity over a handbag! For the creative gals out there, look for something with cool watercolors or even something with a weird shape or texture (I hear fringe is back in style!). For the girls who like to play it safe, try a smooth saddle leather cross-body in neutral or earthy tones. Worried about your budget? No need! There are plenty of places to shop that accommodate every kind of budget. Just remember this is 2010, where a little “extra baggage” is much more appealing with the ‘extra’ cut out.
